In 1920, Saadallah Moustafa Al Abiad and his brother Ramez founded the small family business “Abiad Bros”selling ingredients for the production of Arabic sweets, pastry, chocolate, and confectionary in the booming downtown area of Beirut, Lebanon. The company first started out as a retail business but expanded with time.

During these years, “Abiad Bros” implemented a chocolate and confectionary factory which was located in Aisha Bakkar in the heart of Beirut. The expansion of the business resulted in targeting wholesale clients like pastry shops, bakeries, and chocolate and confectionary industries.
1940 - 1960

In 1961, “Abiad Bros” was divided between the two brothers. Ramez took over the shop in the downtown area of Beirut. Saadallah’s eldest son Moustafa joined the chocolate factory in Aisha Bakkar which was renamed “Saadallah Abiad and His Son Moustafa”.

In 1964, business boomed and hence the chocolate factory had to be enlarged and relocated from Aisha Bakkar to Chiah. The factory was equipped with the most updated machines and latest technology at that time.

In 1970, Saadallah’s other sons joined the company and it was renamed “Saadallah Abiad and Sons”.

In 1991, Moustafa left the company and together with his two sons Saadallah and Malek established the partnership company “Moustafa Saadallah Abiad and Sons” which is located at the Airport Bridge. The company rapidly expanded, adding tools and decorative items to its range of products and installed a chocolate factory. The company focused on the production, import, and export of raw materials and food ingredients for pastry shops, bakeries, chocolate and confectionary factories.

In 2009, “Moustafa Saadallah Abiad and Sons” shifted from a partnership company to a shareholder company and was renamed “Abiad Group s.a.l.” targeting international markets on a wider range.

Since 2009 “Abiad Group s.a.l.” has added equipment and machinery for ice-cream, pastry, chocolate, and confectionary industries as well as showcases for shops. “Abiad Group s.a.l” is now capable of offering a wide range of services to its customers.
The company:
- Supplies equipments and design for bakeries, chocolate, pastry, and confectionary shops.
- Installs showcases, refrigerators, ovens, and other machinery.
- Provides after sale maintenance.
- Imports and exports raw materials, food ingredients, tools, and decorative items.
- Produces chocolate and other food ingredients.
